Itinerary of Egyptian Tours

 

 

This is a brief example of one of our exciting itineraries to Intriguing EGYPT.

We personally design our itineraries to suit the interests of our clients.

Day 1 – Transfer from Cairo International Airport to the magnificent Mena House Oberoi Hotel opposite the Pyramids in Giza. Enjoy a round of golf under the gaze of the pyramids, relax in the luxurious interiors of this former royal hunting lodge or explore the 40 acres of stunning gardens. This evening experience ancient history come to life as you enjoy the Sound and Light spectacular at the Pyramids, and savour your first taste of traditional Egyptian cuisine at our Welcome dinner.

Day 2 – Drive to Saqqara, Memphis, Abu Sir, Harraniya village and Giza on local roads. Explore the pyramids, the sphinx, ride a camel around this ancient site, visit art centres and artisan markets. Drive through villages on the edge of Cairo to a sumptuous dinner in a private garden.

Day 3 – Move to boutique hotel in downtown Cairo. Explore Coptic Cairo, visit wonderful craft shops and souqs, wander labyrinthine alleyways, experience the chaotic magic of the Khan el-Khalili bazaar at dusk.

Day 4 – Visit Islamic Cairo, magnificent mosques, ancient markets, captivating Sufi dancing, artists ateliers and hidden souqs.

Day 5 – Morning at leisure. Afternoon at the Egyptian museum exploring the wonders of this ancient land. See the stunning mask of Tutankhamen and 4000 year old mummies. Relax on a felucca on the mighty Nile at sunset and enjoy a superb dinner on board.

Day 6 & 7 – Sahara experience – Drive to the Western Desert. Visit Bahariya and Farafra Oases, swim in desert pools, visit ancient villages, artisan shops and markets. Be amazed by the Black desert and the White desert, sleep on the silky Saharan sand under the stars, experience Bedouin cuisine, music and hospitality. Second night in Bahariya Oasis.

Day 8 – Return to Cairo during the morning. Afternoon at leisure to relax or to experience more of Cairo’s magic.

Day 9 – Explore traditional markets in hidden alleyways and then travel several centuries to modern art galleries, textile and craft shops, experiencing some of what modern day Cairo has to offer. According to the season, in the evening enjoy a performance at the Cairo Opera House.

Day10  – Alexandria – see life in the Nile Delta as we travel north to the Mediterranean coast. Visit magnificent Alexandria, one of the most famous cities of the ancient world. Visit the stunning Bibliotheca, Montazah Gardens, Cait Bey, the Cecil Hotel and more.  Optional tour to El Alamein.

Day 11 – Morning in Alexandria and leisurely travel back to Cairo.

Day 12 – Early morning flight to Luxor, Karnak Temple on the East Bank and Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens and Hapshetsut on the West Bank. Late night flight returning to Cairo. Optional extensions – see TOUR EXTENSIONS

Day 13 – A relaxing last day – a day of leisure to further explore magnificent Cairo or to revisit places of interest. Farewell dinner on Nile Boat.

Day 14 -Depart for Cairo International Airport.
